i bought a stuffed pork loin roast and it doesn’t have any cooking instructions on it. Just wondering how long it needs to cook for & what temperature? im assuming it would go in the oven. it’s about 8 inches long, 4-5 inches wide & maybe 2 inches high.

Put the roast in the 450 degree preheated oven. The hot temperature is going to give the roast a nice golden color.

Set the timer for 10 minutes.

When the timer goes off re-set the oven temperature to 250 degrees.

Continue cooking about 50-80 minutes or until the meat registers 145 degrees on a meat thermometer. Some roasts are long and thin and others are short and fat, consequently the cooking times will vary depending on the shape of your roast. The meat thermometer is the best way to judge the right amount of cooking time.

(As of May 24, 2011 the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is updating its recommendation for safely cooking pork. USDA recommends cooking whole cuts of pork to 145 °F as measured with a food thermometer placed in the thickest part of the meat, then allowing the meat to rest for three minutes before carving or consuming. Ground meats, including ground beef, veal, lamb, and pork, which should be cooked to 160 °F and do not require a rest time. The safe cooking temperature for all poultry products, including ground chicken and turkey, remains at 165 °F.)

Remove the roast from the oven and set on a cutting board. Cover the meat with tin foil and let it rest for about 15 minutes before slicing it. The temperature of the roast will continue to rise about another 5 degrees.

Sorry, but I know how to cook a pork loin. There is no such thing as a pork loin ribeye. Ribeye is a cut of beef. Generally I roast at 325, 20 minutes per pound. Meat is more tender cooked slowly. But I really don’t understand what meat you have.

Months or weeks. It takes me a long time because i have a high standard. I would say i end up throwing out like 70% of my lyrics. The guitar and melody only takes me a few days to get.

How are they? Any improvements? If you think that they are too long I ‘tend’ to write long lyrics so I can tell a story! I simg it it quite a calm yet high pitched voice, tht tends to be my style! What is the character length limit for lyrics in an mp3 file?

I download a daily podcast that is in mp3 format. In the lyrics section it has the transcript of the show, but it is always cut off, often in the middle of a word. I assume they reached a character length limit and didn’t know it. Do you know how long this limit is, and if there is any way of extending it? Or is there another file format that allows longer lists of lyrics that I can suggest they format it as?

Seems that Lyrics3 has 5100 bytes as limit and Lyrics3v2 no limit (a length value defined in the header). Get them to use a editor that writes the data as Lyrics3v2 rather then the old one.

For a class, I have to complete an assignment where I have to choose a theorem that requires the application of the definition for prime and composite numbers, and then tell how to prove it.
I had a similar assignment last semester and I chose Euclid’s Proof of the Infinity of Prime Numbers. It was an easy theorem to explain how to prove. I was trying to look for another sort of simple, clearly stated theorem.
Any suggestions for a good theorem would be appreciated!

The fundamental theory of arithmetic states that any number can be written as the product of prime numbers.
But prime numbers only have itself and 1 as a factors, and 1 isn’t a prime number.

So prime numbers aren’t numbers? Where am I going wrong?

The fundamental theorem of arithmetic says: any positive integer (except the number 1) can be can be represented in exactly one way apart from rearrangement as a product of one or more primes.

Here the meaning of “product of one prime” is just the prime itself, so, for example, 5 = 5 is the representation for the prime number 5.

Why aren’t negative numbers accounted for in factor theorem? (Especially Prime Numbers)?

I have never understood why negative integers aren’t accounted for in factor theorem, especially when talking about “prime numbers”. For example:
2 is prime because it has 2 factors, 1, and itself (2). but, if negative numbers were counted, it would have 4: -1, -2, 1 and 2. This would make it not a prime number but I can’t understand why negative integers aren’t counted… Please help?

In a ring with unity, numbers are called units if they are invertible. In the set of integers, 1 and -1 are units. If a = ub where u is a unit, then a and b are called associates of each other. The prime number theorem says that prime factorization is unique up to associates.

You are both right.

You can think of char(F) as the minimum n such that:

1 + 1 + …. + 1 = 0

where there are n of the 1s. Oddly, that definition is not consistent with the “0″ definition, since if there is no such n, you are taking the minimum of the empty set, which is technically infinite. See:

But sometimes they think of it as an element of the ring. This is what your teacher is thinking. So the characteristic of the field can be thought of as the minimal ELEMENT of the ring of this form such that it is zero. It’s the exact same notion as above, except it’s defined in terms of elements. And in the same way, the zero ELEMENT is used in the case that this 1+1+…+1 is never zero.

I’ve been thinking about freelancing but I’m scared that clients will fail to pay? How often do clients fail to pay graphic designers?

It happens sometimes. No matter what you never want to give clients a design before they pay for it. In some cases, they will have you do the work and decide they don’t want it, in which case, they don’t legally have to pay for something they don’t want to take. We call these clients “tire kickers”. They want to see something finished before they decide if they want it. And since these types of clients are very indecisive, they usually don’t end up wanting any designs. It takes experience to be able to sniff these people out, but if you are questioning whether or not a client is going to give you problems, it’s perfectly fine to charge them for a concept so they can decide if they want to go in that direction. Once a client has to start paying for something, even a little bit for a concept, they tend to get their sh!t together and buckle down.

The other option is to create a form for potential clients to fill out. Their name, company information, goals, things they need, things they don’t like. The idea is that only people who are serious about paying a professional for their designs will take the time to fill out a long winded form. And then if they do, you have a record of them writing down what they want so they can’t say, I don’t like this idea, or, this isn’t what I asked for.

How can a substance have both covalent and Intermolecular forces/bonding present?

A substance like Sulfur Dichloride is bonded by covalent bonding, but how can there be intermolecular forces/van de waal’s forces be present as well, I thought Intermolecular forces are only found in molecular substances? Do they both hold the structure of Sulfur Dichloride together? Im so confused. How come other substances like Magnesium Chloride only have Ionic bonding only? Is Sulfur Dichloride a exception?

Think of water.

It’s strucutre is held together by covalent bonds.

H–O–H

The atoms of hydrogen however are more positive and the oxygen atom is more negative.

Because of this, we see intermolecular forces between mutliple water molecules. The hydrogens are attracted to the oxygens of different molecules and vice versa.

I’m not sure if you’re looking for a more detailed answer or not but I believe that is the most basic example of covalent bonding and intermolecular forces being present in the same molecule.

Its main use is to chill it to below 32* F and pour your favorite mixed drink or hard liquor over it. Another use is to toss a fishing line into it while you are drinking your beer. can i be fired for no reason?

im a student worker at a college campus and was just fired from my job a couple of days ago. when i asked why, my employer said that i was not being professional, and that we weren’t “a good fit.” she said that i wasn’t suppose to discuss other coworkers winter break schedule (i.e. are you working over break? what are your plans?) and that i was argumentative. the only time i argued with her was when she said i’d either have to come back and work during my summer break (even though i technically didn’t have to because department chair only agreed to hire me for part of the summer) or else i’d lose my job. she also said the same thing about my winter break, saying i have to come back even though i didn’t have to last year. she did all of this over the phone and couldn’t even say to my face. she initially said that the department only wants to hire 3 people, and i decided i was the one to be let go, even though i’ve been there 4x as long as anyone else.

bottom line: we pretty much don’t like each other, only argued twice in the past, and is trying to come up with any excuse to let me go.

i’ve worked there longer than the other employees (over a year vs. 2 months), and i’ve worked there longer than she has (she just transferred and replaced my old supervisor)

to clarify…

im a workaholic so i always come in to work when i didn’t have to so it’s not the “unreliability of her employers.” even if we do “argue” i cancel all my vacation plans and will go out of my way to make sure everything’s covered at work.

also, she took it as me arguing me with her when i asked her if the departments on campus were open during break (i didn’t know they were)

the ONLY reason i argued w/ her was because of the way she demanded that i have to come in, or else i’ll lose my job. i guess it’s just me because i was raised on manners and a “would you mind coming in?” would have been better; i would have definitely came in without question.

Yes. In an ‘at-will employment” state, and most are, just as you are free to quit for any reason, you can be terminated for any reason. Whether or not you received a written notice or other details are matters of company policy, not law. You need to review the employee handbook or company policy manual to determine if your supervisor followed company-mandated procedures for termination.

Pink Eye (conjunctivitis) and Presentation!!!?

I am a senior in college, and I have a huge presentation tomorrow in my senior project class. This presentation is basically so I can get my diploma, so I am already nervous enough. It is in front of all the Comm students and Comm professors and chair of the dept!!! Anyway, I woke up this morning with PINK EYE! EW! I went to the Dr. on campus and she gave me Polymyxin B Sulfate and Trimethoprim Ophtalmic Solution drops (whatever that is).

It says to put them in eyes 4x a day for a week. My presentation is tomorrow at 10am. My right eye is swollen and red and nasty. I’ve been wearing sunglasses, but I can’t during my presentation.

Any tips on trying to not look like Quasimodo?
Should I exceed the recommended amount of drops per day to speed up healing? or will that not help?

Could I try visine to take the red away?

Anything! I’m desperate!

I would not add visine to the mix…take your medication get a good night sleep another dose in the morning and do your best…..it will work out.

There is this guy who works at my campus coffee shop. He seemed nice, I only speak to him when I buy coffee. Apparantly he’s had a crush on me for a while now. He never hit on me before. I think he thought my best friend (a guy) was my bf. Well this semester, he’s hit on me 4x already. And I’m really not into him like THAT. So I told him I don’t want a relationship and have a bf (to not hurt his feelings). He said that’s fine, and gave me his number and said he wanted to be friends. So I felt bad, and texted him casually a week later. But now he keeps texting, and he flirts with me and it creeps me out when he flirts. What do I do? I’ve not answered his last 2 texts…I feel like I can never go back to the coffee shop either, which sucks!!!

I hate when this happens. I think it was a bad idea to text him; that gave him hope and it opened the door to communication. Tell him you are NOT ready to be in a relationship. He is probably going to say he just wants to be friends. Tell him its hard to be his friend when you know how he feels. Do NOT answer his texts!

Am I caring too much about my roommate?

Well I moved in to an on campus apt (we have our own bed/bath) when i transferred to a new University. My roommate was already living there, when I moved in. When I walked in I greeted her, and told her my schedule. Since then she has ignored the hell outta me.

Since then she always stays in her room and never talks to me. Her boyfriend comes over 4x a week and I dont mind because I rarely know if hes there. I have also noticed that she waits for me to leave out the kitchen before she comes out to get something to eat.

The only reason this bothers me is because im new to campus and my own roommate doesn’t even talk to me. I have tried several times to talk to her and make conversation, but I kinda get the feeling that she doesn’t want to talk to me.

I dont have her phone # or even know much about her.

Its been like this for almost a year, and I dont know anyone else to room with and I dont feel like moving all of my things. Should I

I am 5’6, FEMALE, and about 142 lbs now…aiming for 120 lbs. For the past 5 weeks, I’ve ate 1400-1700 calories, averaging about 1600 on ACTIVE days and 1500 on NONACTIVE…AND EVERYTHING!! EVERYTHING i ate was healthy…beans, nuts, olive oil everyday, fermented milk, fruits and veggies at least 3 services a day, 8 cups of water everyday….everything healthy …..

BUT!!! today, for the first time in 35 days (yes 5 weeks), I ate 2500 calories! Woah! And 2/3 of my menu was healthy. However, I ate some fudge (1/4th lb), Starbursts (240 calorie package), AND! some Turkish delight (yes im american too lol…but this was about 185 calories)…so anyway, I ate these things!!! Totally weird of me but i did. My body asked “hey can i have some fudge” so I said “OK!” and got some fudge! The MINUTE my body gets a craving, i listen to it…i just didn’t have a craving until now I guess. Took 5 weeks. Weird.

Anyway, usually I work out 6 days a week in the gym, run 3 mi 5x/week and strength train 3-4x per week. Plus I walk to all my classes every mon-fri and always walk to the gym (campus about 3/4th mile from where I live) So yea, I’m pretty active!! Most days I’m burning 2,200-2,500 calories as my total energy expenditure. So, what’s gonna happen now that I ate 2,500 calories on a nonactive day. Well, I shouldn’t say NONactive…I strength trained for 20min..and walked to my classes, but I didn’t run my usual 3 miles, because it was an off day for me. Will I gain any weight back, or am I gonna keep losing?

What is a typical income requirement for a mortgage? 4x? Also, no initial cost mortgages, worth it?

I’m looking to find out what banks would “typically” require for income for a mortgage. Also, if they would look at gross pay or net pay, what debts they look for to calculate it, and if they include home-owner’s insurance in the estimate of a monthly payment. Also, my wife and I have student loans, but they are on deferment since we are both in school. Would it make any different if we got the loan before my wife’s payment became due in January? I’m not interested in doing any kind of high risk loan. I just want a strictly “safe” 20% down, 30 year mortgage.

My story is this: I’m trying to finish college. I decided that I wanted to get married young, then we had my daughter which slowed school down a lot. I had about a year before finishing, then we just found out that my wife was pregnant again, even though we took precautions against it. Now that I’m looking at having two children, I feel like I need to get out of these apartment complexes and get into a solid home that I can call my own. I understand that there are plenty of benefits to apartments, like on-site maintenance, but I’m pretty handy and the benefits are losing their value. I’ve looked around at several houses in the area and found some relatively cheap houses on the market that would fit my wife’s and my tastes. I have access to enough money for a 20% down payment for most of these houses. My biggest worry about affording a house would be the closing and other associated costs. Bank of America offers a no-closing-cost loan, but I feel like they might have such a high interest rate that it wouldn’t even be worth it. Banks you GROSS income per month.

They use ratios. They will do up to 32-36% of gross income for a total mortgage payment (principle, interest, taxes, insurance and PMI (if less then 20% down).

HOWEVER!!!!!! I would recommend never to go over 25% of gross income.

Any general rule of thumb on product pricing?

I convert a few raw materials into finished goods. Mostly my value comes in the labor (the product is fairly generic.) But is there any general rule of thumb for how to price the finished goods? My current guess is that I should price at:
(1.3 * X) + (3 * Y) = price — where X = materials and Y is labor.

I realize this needs to be sanity-checked against competition, current market prices, but I’m looking for any rough rules of thumb. (For example when I ran a straight service company with minimal material costs, I was told a good rule of thumb was that my revenue should be about 4x my labor costs for the revenue.)

During my 15 years of mfg experience, I have found that if you can get are markup of 33% – 50% you are doing quite well.

If your COGS is $1.00/unit, you would like to sell it for $1.33 – $1.50.
